Ethiopian Lottery Service (ELS) was established as the first autonomous and legal state lottery by Proclamation number 183 in 1954EC. It was established with the purpose of generating revenue through undertaking lottery activities. The proclamation was enacted in 1954EC to govern gaming and gambling making lottery a legitimate activity with government monopoly.
With over 60 years of experience in lottery operations, the Ethiopian Lottery Service is currently entertaining the community with games of chance by marketing various types of number lotteries and scratch lotteries.
